FitCV Privacy Policy
FitCV is a Chrome extension that tailors your CV to a job posting. This policy describes what it handles, what reaches our servers, and what you can ask us to delete.
What stays on your device
Your CV, the job postings you save, the tailored results, cover letters, and any notes or links you add are stored in your browser's extension storage. They stay there. Removing the extension removes them.
FitCV does not ask you to create an account. There is no sign-in, and we do not collect your name or your email address.
What reaches our servers
To tailor a CV, the extension sends the text of your CV and the job posting to our servers, which pass them to the model provider that generates the result. We use OpenRouter as that provider. Your CV and the posting are handled for the length of that request; we do not keep them afterwards.
If you uninstall the extension, the page that opens asks why. Answering is optional. If you answer, we receive what you typed, the extension's version number and the name of your browser, such as Chrome or Edge. The answer is not linked to your installation's identifier or to anything else about you, so please don't include personal details in it.
What we store
When you install the extension it creates a random identifier for that installation. It is not connected to your name, your email, or anything else about you. We store it so we can count how many CVs an installation has generated in the current month, which is how the free tier's limit works.
For each request we also record how large it was, what it cost, how long it took, and whether it succeeded. These records hold no part of your CV or the posting.
How long we keep it
We keep what is described above until you ask us to delete it. There is no automatic expiry.
Write to [email protected] and we will delete your installation's record and its generation count. The usage records — sizes, costs, timings — are kept for accounting and stop being linked to you.
You can also ask us for a copy of what we hold.
Answers from the uninstall page are kept to help us improve FitCV, with no automatic expiry. Because they are not linked to you, we cannot find a particular answer to delete or send you.
The website
This site uses one analytics script, from webvisor.xyz, to understand how visitors use the pages. It reports which page was viewed, where the visit came from, the browser's user-agent string, how far the page was scrolled, how long it was open, how quickly it loaded, mouse movement, and interactions with links and forms. It does not identify you, and the identifier it sends belongs to the site rather than to any visitor.
The analytics script is not loaded on the page that opens when you uninstall the extension.
We set no cookies.

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page.
